LOCAL Closer Look: The Kylie Rowand Foundation - San Diego, CA
Jeanice Lee talks with Bree Rowand, the President and Founder of The Kylie Rowand Foundation. The Kylie Rowand Foundation is inspired by Bree’s daughter named Kylie who fought stage 4 neuroblastoma for months, before going home to be with the Lord in 2015. During Kylie’s battle, the family gained support, prayer, and love from people across the world. The Kylie Rowand Foundation brings awareness and provides support for children and their families directly affected by childhood cancer by helping support their needs and struggles. KYLIE'S MOM IS MAKING HER MARC
"I am beyond honored to have been selected by Marc Fisher as a #MAKEYOURMARC program ambassador for my work with the Kylie Rowand Foundation! The #MAKEYOURMARC program features dynamic women who are inspiring and working hard to make a difference in the community. I started my foundation in effort to help support and encourage families faced with pediatric cancer. Let's keep empowering others to make their "marc" on the world!"

Prayers for Kylie: Parents remember daughter they lost to cancer with generous charity, May 12, 2016
Bree and Luke Rowand's dream of becoming parents came true when their little girl Kylie Elizabeth Rowand was born. The Rowand's, who live in Alpine, California, near San Diego, never expected their daughter would spend half of her life fighting to stay alive.
Facebook Stories, May 12, 2016
"When Bree and Luke Rowand found out their daughter Kylie had cancer, they created a Facebook Page, Prayers for Kylie, God's little Warrior, to share their daughter's progress and journey.
It evolved into a movement of more than 100,000 people in 47 countries donating money and saying prayers for baby Kylie.
After Kylie passed away, the Rowands wanted to pay it forward to other families suffering childhood cancer.
...
They used their Page to raise nearly $200,000 for childhood cancer, giving the money to financially strapped families suffering childhood cancer and to fund research.
Last week, they presented $100,000 check to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for neuroblastoma research."
